Onay Rosquet – UNBOXING

  • February 6, 2017
Vernissage: March 16, 2017, 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Onay Rosquet (Havanna, *1987) knows that objects inherently convey meaning. The young artist constructs stories by painting collected objects which he places in a new seemingly random context. These precise arrangements do not originate unintentionally, but are the outcome of a sensual an intellectual selection process. UNBOXING shows crates full of daily objects, which through what they have witnessed and though their silent presence enter into a dialogue with the spectator. https://youtu.be/1UGaky0Cqj0Read more …

Keys to an Identity - Virginia Alberdi - Choco shines with his own light. Perhaps not all inhabitants of the Caribbean island know that his name is Eduardo Roca, but when you say Choco – the familiar name with which he signs his pieces – they understand that you are speaking of an artist whom everyone admires for contributing to the heart of Cuban culture. That perception has been forged over time and is supported by the regularity of a consistent artistic output. The participation in salons and biennials and…Read more …
