Mabel Poblet (*1986 in Cienfuegos) graduated from both “San Alejandro” Art Academy and the University of the Arts (ISA) with top grades. Her distinctive, penetrating style has made her one of the best-known visual artists in Cuba. In ‘Passion and Restraint’ I choose to present two young painters – Adislen Reyes Pino (Havana, 1984) and Lancelot Alonso Rodríguez (Havana, 1986) – who apply color in a very distinctive way: She, with soft, pastel tones, and he, with full intensity.
